Summary
The Network Security Sr. Advisor is responsible for the implementation of security devices such as firewalls, IDS/IPS’s, log collector appliances and others as well as the integration of SecureWork’s managed/monitored security services. The engineer should have expert level knowledge of these and other back-end technologies as well as processes and procedures that enable the delivery of our service. They will also work closely with other departments to assist in the development, testing and rollout of new service lines. The Sr. Advisor will also serve as a subject matter expert and make technical recommendations on service/software enhancements that will help drive efficiency in the implementation process. They will also lead the efforts of special projects.

Preferred Technical Experience:
Cisco ASA, Cisco IDS/IPS, Crossbeam (C and X Series), Juniper (Netscreen & SRX), Checkpoint (IPSO, SPLAT & UTM), Fortinet, SonicWALL, Imperva WAF, F5 WAF, Sourcefire, LogLogic, Arcsight, ISS Proventia, McAfee, Tipping Point, Snort, Linux/Unix OS, Mysql, IPSEC/SSL VPN, TCP/IP, Routing, L2/L3 Switching, Syslog and SNMP

Responsibilities
Discuss technical requirements for contracted services with customers.
Work with customers to plan out the details and timelines of the implementation.
Implement security devices on customer’s network according to their specification and change control windows. This can include the configuration and installation of firewalls, IDS/IPS’s, log collection appliances, and others as specified.
Complete associated work on backend systems and work with other teams in the operations centers as necessary to deliver the contracted services.
Assist in the creation and maintaining of Provisioning tools and automation scripts.
Research new security products as needed.
Creation and delivery of provisioning training to peers and SOC personnel.
Lead and contribute to projects of varying scales such as upgrades, migrations and new offerings.
Mentor new and existing Network Security Advisors and Sr. Analysts and provide training on new service lines as needed.
Work with other key departments on the development, testing, and rollout of new service lines.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledgebase articles related to the implementation of Securework’s managed security services.
Serve as a technical escalation point for other Provisioning Engineers or departments on service implementation related issues.
Some travel is required.
Some off shift work is required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Solid understanding of TCP/IP protocol stack and familiarity of various network protocols.
Strong knowledge of security protocols and design concepts.
Ability to integrate information security solutions into existing enterprise networks and be able to identify and efficiently troubleshoot complex network issues in enterprise environments.
Must have strong knowledge of *nix operating systems.
Must have in-depth knowledge of enterprise level firewall and IDS/IPS platforms including Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper, Tipping Point, and Sourcefire.
Proven ability to architect and deploy network/security solutions.
Strong ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must have exceptional communications and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with peers, management, staff, and internal/external business partners/clients.
Should be self driven and possess a high degree of self initiative.
Must have exemplary customer service skills.

Experience:
Typically 5-7 years experience with 3 of the following firewall platforms: Cisco, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Imperva WAF, or Juniper.
Typically 5-7 years experience with 3 of the following IDS/IPS platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Tipping Point, Sourcefire, McAfee or Snort.
Typically 5-7 years experience with *nix operating systems.
One or more of the following certifications are preferred: CCNP Security, CCSE, JNCIS-FWV, JNCIS-SEC, GCFW, CISSP
The applicant should also be project oriented and able to work with minimal day-to-day direction
