We require a Bunker Operations Manager to be based at our head office in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage supplier relationships (with oil majors/minor, traders and brokers)
Negotiate and execute all bunker purchasing contracts with suppliers
Ensure timely and efficient delivery of fuels for the global fleet
Develop a strategic approach to group bunker purchases
Drive revenue opportunities outside core structure
Evaluating future vessel itineraries creating operational efficiencies
Ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures
Enforce compliance ensuring suitable bunkers are available and that fuel procurement is compliant with relevant regulatory requirements
Managing legal and operational risk and claims acting as point of contact with suppliers
Monitoring, analysing and reporting on market trends
Working with Treasury department to offer effective bunker hedging strategies
Managing all bunker positions
Develop an effective succession plan for this critical function/department
Analyse vessel fuel consumptions and performance against targets, KPIs, and EEOI
Manage bunker quality and validation processes
Deliver ‘strategic development’ initiatives aiming to improve procurement excellence in terms of cost /
innovation / safety / quality / internal customer satisfaction
Responsibility for the annual fuel budget
Key Requirements:
Working knowledge of the Fujeriah market
Recognised degree in Business or Procurement with minimum 5 years relevant experience within the
bunker supply chain
Excellent negotiating skills
Commercial and legal/contract knowledge
Able to work in a systematic and organised manner
Able to structure and analyse large amounts of data from different sources identifying business
opportunities and threats taking proactive steps to manage these
Strong analytical mind with a natural ability to identify trends and make practical recommendations at
all levels of the organisation, with a strategic mind-set
