JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control,organisms, running internal controls etc. and other laboratory quality control procedures.
Examines and identify bacteria and other microorganisms in the patient’s blood/urine sample.
Maintains laboratory data, to include equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures.
Maintains bacteriological media and chemical solutions, utilizing proper labeling, handling, storage, use, and disposal of solutions, including autoclaved and hazardous waste.
Disposal of contaminated waste including autoclaved inoculated biohazardous media.
Prepares and analyses samples for microbial pathogens and identifies then through the use of various biochemical testing procedures in collaboration with clinical pathologist.
