The successful candidate will be responsible for review, communication and implementation of SOPs, work instructions and KPIs in the department, based on customer requirements, Corporate Integrated Management System, regulatory and industry standards, Quality Management Systems and departmental objectives and policies. Facilitate and represent the department at all external audits, change management processes, continuous improvement programmes & ensure all staff are updated on SOPs for relevant areas of operations.

Job Purpose:

To identify potential emergency and crisis situations that dnata may face and reduce the exposure by establishing preparedness and contingency plans that are compliant with regulatory requirements from destination countries as well as from ICAO and IATA, contractual obligations and industry best practices. Provide assurance to dnata''s due diligence requirements to protect people, assets, environment and dnata''s reputations by establishing best practices, conducting drills and reviews and assures process across the whole network.

Job Accountabilities:

Plan:
- Develops policies and practices aimed at assuring effective response to any emergency or crisis within the dnata network by aligning to various local and international authorities while meeting the expectation of dnata stakeholders.
- Identifies and develops strategies globally to support emergency and crisis management resulting from a serious incident, security breach or other business disruption events ensuring compliance with local emergency orders and synergy with group requirements.
- Establishes the corporate and division business continuity plan, and supports dnata businesses in the design of their local procedures.
- Designs and reviews continuously the strategies for manning the Incident Control Centre (ICC) to enable dnata to make an effective recovery following a major incident or accident.
- Ensures implementation of dnata’s crisis/emergency management and business continuity programs by acting as a liaison for the company’s disaster recovery efforts.
- Develops standards that support dnata''s commitment to safe operations and establishes systems and processes that assure risks are being managed in line with Industry Best Practices, Regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations.

Lead:
- Manages effective achievement of departmental objectives through managing the department by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximise subordinate and departmental performance.
- Manages and coordinates dnata emergency and crisis staff, consultants and contractors assigned to the department.

Execute:
- Delivers effective contingency response plans through a process of validation and recommendations for improvement that are aligned to corporate standards and industry best practices.
- Evaluates dnata operations and identifies areas of risk that could potentially negatively impact or, severely impair our day to day operations.
- Consults with affected areas of the business and designs alternative contingency/crisis management plans that will reduce the risk and enable the business to continue as normal or, with a reduced level of disruption.
- Reviews the corporate Emergency Procedures Manual in relation to very serious incidents, accidents and security threats.
- Ensures that risk reduction, and preparedness processes align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices and is fit for purpose to meet stakeholder expectations.
- Ensures corporate emergency preparedness standards address risk reduction requirements and dnata''s expectations.
- Oversees the emergency/crisis training, planning and management exercises and awareness programs.
- Partners with internal departments, as well as external agencies and regulators, to ensure strict coordination and understanding of changing policies, systems and procedures.
- Compiles detailed reports and advises the dnata operations on emergency/crisis matters ensuring that all operational aspects of the group are in adherence.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders (internally and external) to enhance customer relations and ensures that system/procedures and processes updates are in line with legislations and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor''s degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Public Administration, Crisis planning or a related field
- Technical qualifications with NFPA or similar accredited organization

Experience:
- 8-10 years of disaster and emergency planning experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience, Certification as an Emergency Manager is preferred
- Experience in crisis planning or enforcement or related field would be beneficial

Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced computer and IT literacy skills
- Advanced negotiation, communication, presentation and managerial skills
- Advanced numerical analyses skills
- Advanced data collection and analyses skills
- Advanced knowledge of the laws and regulations governing emergency management
- Advanced knowledge of emergency and/or disaster planning principles and practices
- Advanced knowledge in managing and coordinating disaster recovery operations
- Advanced ability to demonstrate risk mitigation
- Advanced knowledge in the implementation of corporate policy, processes, and best practices for crisis and fire prevention throughout the assigned business units
- Knowledge of International Terrorism and Risk Prevention would be an advantage
